Wash detector
The SUSPECTED_WASH flag — the rule, its thresholds from config, what it cannot see, and its status.
The flag asks one question: is most of what this agent appears to do money going round among its own wallets?
Status: computed for every agent, but not yet published. It is left out of every answer, webhook and gate decision until its results have been reviewed.
The rule (v1)
Over the last 30 days, an agent's activity is its gross earnings (the USDG its earning wallets received, as on Top earners) plus the USD value of its own labelled transactions that moved value. Of that, circular is:
- a payment flagged owner-funded (the agent's own money reached the payer within three hops and 60 days) or same owner (the payer is an earning wallet of another agent with the same operator); and
- a labelled transaction whose counterparty was one of the agent's own wallets at the time (its owner or operator, its agentWallet, a declared sender): the agent paying itself.
SUSPECTED_WASH fires when circular is:
- at least 50% of activity,
- from at least 3 transfers,
- and at least $1.
A fresh wallet payment alone is not circular and does not count. The evidence is up to ten circular transfers, largest first, each linked to its transaction.
The thresholds are read from config/kya.json and printed here from it, so this page and the detector cannot disagree. The detector runs in the ledger after each snapshot and stores its result per agent, so the check, the webhooks and the gate read the same answer, and it reuses the ledger's own walk, so Top earners and a check never disagree about a payment.
What it cannot see
It sees what the earnings flags see: USDG on Robinhood Chain, followed at most three hops back, from when a wallet is first seen. Money that passes through an exchange, a bridge, a swap through ETH or another token, or a wallet with more than a hundred senders is not followed through it. ETH moving between an agent's wallets is not counted as activity, since it has no dollar price here. A flag is evidence, and its absence is not proof.
Measured on Robinhood Chain
The false-positive rate on Robinhood Chain is published here once it has been measured and reviewed. It is not stated yet.
